A Book (and sometimes other things) Review Blog

The Map of Time by Felix Palma

Andrew Harrington is suffering from a broken heart.  Heir to an enormous fortune, he had intended to marry Marie Kelly and rescue her from the slums of Whitechapel.  Alas, before he could propose, she was murdered by Jack the Ripper.  But what if he could travel back in time and prevent it from happening?

Elsewhere, Claire Haggerty rails against the stifling conformity of the age.  A strange journey into the future will bring her into contact with a hero yet to be born.  But is the mysterious Captain all he appears to be?

Involved with both affairs, and also with problems of his own, is the noted author H.G. Wells.  Can it be that time travel is no longer just a story, but is now a reality?

An ambitious page-turner of a book by Spanish author Felix Palma, now translated into English, The Map of Time playfully deals with the reader’s expectations and delivers a number of surprises along the way.  An absorbing experience.
